This event comes in the wake of recent, tragic acts of anti-Semitism, including attacks at Bondi Beach, the murder of an MIT professor, the attempted murder of Brown University Jewish Professor, and an arson attack at the Hillel Jewish community center in San Francisco. “Rally for Light” emphasizes the strength and unity of the San Diego community in the face of adversity, demonstrating that light can overcome hate. The Rally for Light on the last day of Hanukkah is to bring together County elected leaders to continue spreading the light beyond the holiday of Hanukkah and demonstrate our unwavering spirit and commitment to fighting anti-Semitism and all hate. It’s crucial that we stand together to spread light, unity, and resilience.
