In High Demand: Secretary of State and San Diego County Assessor/Recorder/Clerk Bring Key Sacramento Service to San Diego
800+ expected for Key Sacramento “Same Day” Apostille Pop-Up Service September 17th Document Authentication for dual citizenship applicants, work and study abroad, military, and more.
San Diego, CA – Responding to overwhelming demand, San Diego County Assessor/Recorder/County Clerk Jordan Z. Marks has partnered with California Secretary of State Shirley N. Weber to offer an additional Apostille Pop-Up Shop on Wednesday, September 17, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the County Recorder/County Clerk Downtown Office, 1600 Pacific Highway, Suite 273, San Diego. Free underground parking is available. No appointment is necessary, walk-ins are welcome.
Assessor/Recorder/County Clerk Jordan Z. Marks said, “I’m excited to partner again with California Secretary of State Shirley Weber to bring this much needed in high demand service from Sacramento directly to San Diegans.” Marks continued, “As your advocate, I proactively secured this great opportunity for San Diegans because it will save time and money for us who live and do business on the border, serve in our military, or are traveling internationally for study abroad, from having to travel hundreds of miles or spend hundreds of dollars to obtain apostille authentication services.” Marks concluded, "San Diego County is a global player and number one in the State of California issuing the most Apostilles at any Pop-Up event because our businesses, families, students, and military that live and do business across the globe require this mandatory Apostille service. My partnership with Secretary Weber saves San Diegans time, money, and the burden of unnecessary travel to Los Angeles or Sacramento for this required service. Based on the overwhelming success of our past Pop-Up Shops, where over 2,000 customers were served and thousands of apostilles processed, we added this extra date to ensure San Diegans gets the service they need with the convenience they deserve.”
Apostilles certify government officials’ signatures for documents used abroad — including birth, marriage, and death certificates; academic diplomas; military paperwork; and business documents. In-person authentication at the Pop-Up allows same-day processing, avoiding the 4–6 week processing by mail or hundreds of miles of travel to Sacramento or Los Angeles for in-office service.
Secretary of State Shirley N. Weber said, “One of the most important aspects of my role as California’s Secretary of State is ensuring that the services we provide are accessible, efficient, and customer-friendly for everyone. A perfect example of this commitment is our innovative Apostille Pop-Up Shops program, which has been a game-changer for so many Californians. I am proud to continue these efforts with a stop in San Diego County, bringing government closer to the people it serves.”
