County Assessor Hosts Groundbreaking Ceremony for New State-of-the-Art East County Branch Office & County Archives

The San Diego County Assessor / Recorder / County Clerk’s (ARCC) Office will be joined in the City of Santee by civic and community leaders to celebrate the groundbreaking of a state-of-the-art ARCC East County branch office and County Archives.

Assessor/Recorder/County Clerk, Ernest J. Dronenburg, Jr. said, “The new branch office will expand the Assessor, Recorder, County Clerk, and Treasurer-Tax Collector staff services for the growing east county communities, including beautiful indoor and outdoor wedding areas where over 1,000 civil ceremonies are expected to be performed annually.” Dronenburg continued, “The new facility will be the first County Archive and host the County Recorder public records, including all original maps from 1800 to present.”

The 25,000 square foot facility will be located in the City of Santee. It will offer 125 parking spaces, solar panel canopies to provide shade in the parking lot, a landscaped retention pond, and an outdoor wedding arbor. The archive will be one of the first in the United States to earn the LEED Gold certification and be a Zero Net Energy user.

WHO: San Diego County Assessor Ernie Dronenburg, San Diego County Treasurer-Tax Collector Dan McAllister, Santee Mayor John Minto, County of San Diego Deputy Chief Administrative Officer April Heinze, and a representative from County of San Diego Supervisor Jacob’s office.

Ernest J. Dronenburg, Jr. is the San Diego County elected Assessor/Recorder/County Clerk. During his time in office, he has re-opened the Chula Vista and Kearny Mesa satellite offices and extended hours for the public at all of his County offices. Dronenburg has made moving taxpayers from “in-line to online” a top priority, reduced paper waste, and eliminated a backlog of taxpayer appeals. Dronenburg is a graduate of the San Diego State University, School of Business Administration.
